Abbotsford, BC / ACCESSWIRE / October 28th, 2014 / Gatekeeper Systems Inc. ("Gatekeeper" or the "Company") (TSX.V: GSI) is pleased to announce that it has signed a new five-year revenue sharing contract for school bus stop-arm violation citations (the "Stop-Arm Contract") with Florence Independent School District ("Florence ISD"), located in the State of Texas, USA.

Under the terms of the Stop-Arm Contract with Florence ISD, Gatekeeper will initially equip approximately 10% of Florence ISD's fleet of 27 school buses with Student ProtectorTM (SP-210 or SP-322), a multi-sensor camera and infrared license plate reading system. Ownership of Student ProtectorTM equipment will remain property of Gatekeeper, therefore providing zero capital cost to Florence ISD. Bus routes for equipped busses shall be determined by Gatekeeper, and Student ProtectorTM equipment may be reassigned to different buses at Gatekeeper's discretion. Depending on the experience of stop-arm violations, Gatekeeper has the option to expand the installation of Student ProtectorTM to the entire fleet of Florence ISD's school buses. Gatekeeper's share is 50% of the revenues generated from stop-arm violation citations, where the average citation is approximately US $396. Florence ISD, in the City of Florence in Williamson County, is located between Austin, Texas, and Fort Hood U.S Military Base, where they experience a high volume of traffic and high-speed vehicles travelling along the highway between the two locations. As a result, stop-arm violations frequently occur numerous times per day on multiple buses and bus routes.

Doug Dyment, President and CEO of Gatekeeper commented, "This is a step in the right direction for Gatekeeper and we are extremely excited to work with Florence Independent School District on their school bus stop-arm project. Tens of thousands of stop-arm violations are reported across the United States and Canada on a daily basis. It is only a matter of time before the next fatality occurs. With the accuracy and reliability of the Student ProtectorTM high-speed license plate reader, issuing citations will serve to deter bad driving habits and create awareness for children's safety in and around school buses. We intend to introduce the same enforcement programs for monitoring of speed in school and park zones. In addition to providing zero up-front capital cost, Florence ISD will receive a positive economic benefit from revenues generated from violation tickets. It should serve as a win-win situation for the school district and community, while creating a safe environment for children relying on the use of school buses every day."

About Student ProtectorTM

The Student ProtectorTM multi-sensor camera system is mounted on the exterior of the school bus, approximately 6 feet behind the stop-arm. Student Protector(TM) is a high performance license plate reader that eliminates motion blur caused by vehicles traveling at high speed, thus allowing it to reliably deliver clear readable images in extreme environments. Student Protector(TM) includes a unique mechanical design, combined with precision engineered sensor technology, allowing it to optimize license plate recognition day or night. Utilizing Gatekeeper's Direct Light Technology(TM) and advanced processing, the SP-210 and SP-322 reliably captures readable license plate images when offending vehicles pass the stop arm at speeds up to 56 mph (90 kph). Integrating with Gatekeeper's G-Series Digital Video Recorders ("DVRs"), the DVR is configured to start recording when the bus warning lights are activated. Recording continues while the stop-arm is deployed. Approximately fifteen (15) seconds after the stop-arm is retracted, the recording is stopped. As a result, a single video file for each stop-arm event is generated, thus making it easy to review incidents.

Gatekeeper Systems' G4(TM) Incident Management Software provides on screen display that includes meta-data notifications such as warning lights active, stop arm deployed, GPS coordinates and bus speed. These notifications are embedded into the video stream providing an EVIDENCEPAK(TM) needed to positively identify the location of the bus, and evidence the bus was stopped. G4(TM) Incident Software allows users to quickly and easily create a short clip or still image (JPEG) therefore generating an EVIDENCEPAK(TM) needed to issue tickets to stop-arm violators.

Individual evidence packages can then be automatically uploaded into Gatekeeper's in-house designed and developed Traffic Infraction Management System (TIMSTM). The primary functionality of TIMSTM include: (1) providing a repository of video footage on a per case/citation basis; (2) providing law enforcement review of evidence and determine if evidence is sufficient to mail citation;(3) track status and records of payment; (4) Track disposition of citations; and (5) reporting of statistics.
