Gigamon Inc. reported a loss of $3 million in its third quarter. The company said on a per-share basis, it had a loss of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, were 4 cents per share. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 4 cents per share. Gigamon posted revenue of $39.3 million in the period while analysts expected $35.2 million, according to Zacks.

Oppenheimer sell rating pushes GoPro, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRO) shares down. The stock closed down 9.15% this past Friday on about 12.2 million shares.

Analysts at Oppenheimer initiated coverage on GPRO and gave the stock a sell rating and a price target of $45. Oppenheimer's Andrew Uerkwitz noted that although GoPro will face challenges as it expands into a broader market, including competing with smartphones. "While we believe this will prove difficult, we also expect several new entrants to the capture market that will result in lost wallet share or lower gross margins, and ultimately missed expectations," said Uerkwitz in a report.

4-part bond selling plans help Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) shares close up a modest 1.14% on Friday with about 13.5 million shares traded.

Verizon has plans to sell a 4-part bond offering after yields on high-grade debentures fell to 2.97%. This is the lowest in about a year. A regulatory filing stated that Verizon has about $23 bil in bonds coming due in '15-'18.

Beating Q1 Estimates help KLA-Tencor Corporation (NASDAQ: KLAC) shares close up 6.90%

KLA-Tencor Corporation reported first-quarter 2014 earnings of $0.47 a share. This topped the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 46 cents, or 2.2%. The company reported revenues of $642.9 million, down 12.5% sequentially, 2.3% from the year-ago quarter, within the guided range of $590-650 million and 3.4% over the Zacks Consensus Estimate.
