Whitefish, MT / ACCESSWIRE / October 20, 2014 / Cannabis stocks moved largely lower over the past week, led by a 12% drop in GW Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ: GWPH). The company's Phase IIA study of GWP42003 - a CBD-based compound - for ulcerative colitis failed to meet the primary endpoint of disease remission. While second endpoints were promising, the drug also showed poor toleration among patients with a number withdrawing.
On the regulatory side, the industry continues to gear up for the November election season. Oregon polls have shown strong support for Measure 91, while many other states also appear to be promising. Investors will be closely watching the Colorado gubernatorial race, however, given one candidate's promise to repeat the adult-use legalization that has already passed in the state.
