Whitefish, MT / October 14, 2014 / Cannabis industry stocks moved lower last week, according to data from the Marijuana Index(TM), continuing its bearish 3-month trend alongside a broader decline affecting the U.S. stock market as a whole. Top gainers included MyECheck Inc. (OTC: MYEC), which jumped nearly 10% last week and 13% on Monday's session, after announcing a patent infringement lawsuit.
On the regulatory side, the cannabis industry is gearing up for a big fight during the November elections. Oregon and Alaska will decide whether or not to legalize the drug for adult-use, while several other states will vote on medical legalization. Colorado will face the opposite challenge as gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez has indicated that he would seek to repeal the drug's legalization if elected.
