Amazonas Florestal Ltd Appoints Bruce W. Barren Chairman and CEO

MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / September 19, 2014 / Amazonas Florestal, Ltd., (OTC Pink: AZFL) (PINKSHEETS: AZFL) ("Amazonas" or "Company") (www.amazonasf.com), a natural resources company generating profit through innovative, sustainable forest management, is pleased to announce  it has appointed Bruce W. Barren as the Company's new Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Bruce brings more than 40 years of experience in directing public companies.

As previously announced Amazonas has been pursuing several initiatives for revenue growth in the fields of forest products and the preservation of the natural habitats and environment contained in company owned lands. The company is focused on building shareholder value through these initiatives that include enhancing the management team, funding revenue generating projects, growth through additional acquisitions, improved investor relations presence and the completion of requirements necessary for Amazonas to become a fully reporting and complaint entity.

The appointment of Mr. Barren represents the first step in this process and positions the Company under the qualified leadership needed to accomplish these initiatives.

Mr. Bruce W. Barren, CEO, stated, "I am very excited to have been given this opportunity. Amazonas has an excellent business plan and is poised to assume a positive position on the market and reach substantial business objectives. Mr. Barren will replace Michael Ibar as CEO of the Company. The Company would like to thank Mr. Ibar for his time and dedication to Amazonas during his tenure. Mr. Ibar was been instrumental and a key factor in getting the Company to this point. We would like to wish Mr. Ibar all the best in his future business pursuits and endeavors.

Mr. Barren is group chairman of The EMCO/Hanover Group, which since its inception in 1971, has concluded more than $3+ billion in financial transactions worldwide as international merchant bankers, representing more than 1,000 separate corporate transactions. Mr. Barren has completed more than 200 business turnarounds, capital restructurings and mergers/acquisitions representing more than $1billion in annualized payroll.
