08/14/2014 [ACCESSWIRE]

Whitefish, MT / August 14, 2014 / Blue Water Group, Inc. (OTCQB: BLUU) yesterday announced its launch of commercial production of its premium rums, Blue Water Ultra Premium Rum(tm) and Blue Water Caribbean Gold(tm). The first production run is anticipated to generate an aggregate output of approximately 20,000 liters of rum. The luxury frosted and silk screen printed bottles that will house the top-shelf distilled spirits, along with customized, four-color printed cases for product staging, are being manufactured concurrently. Each case unit will securely contain six one-liter bottles of rum.

Once completed and filled, the rum cases will be shipped to St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies, where they will be available for wholesale and retail sale throughout the region. Blue Water intends to sell these high-end rums via the Caribbean-themed Blue Water Bar & Grill brand as well as retail locations, where it should generate a strong, secondary revenue stream.

Growth stories from well-known brands like Diageo's (NYSE: DEO) Captain Morgan Spiced product– which saw 5.7% growth in Latin America and the Caribbean in this year's first quarter– present some illustration of the opportunities for rum in the bustling Caribbean tourist market. On a broader scale, the spirits market has gained traction globally, as seen by Suntory Beverage & Food's (OTC: STBFY) acquisition of Beam Inc., a leading global premium spirits provider that makes Calico Jack rum.

A report published last year by Just-Drinks.com and International Wine & Spirits Research further indicates rum's growing popularity in the Caribbean and other regions. At present, more than 146 million nine-liter cases of rum are sold on a global scale each year. North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and India are where rum has been consumed in the biggest volumes, and the market report indicates that strong market development opportunities for rum persist in these regions. To capitalize on these opportunities, Blue Water plans to expand the Blue Water Ultra Premium Rum(tm) and Blue Water Caribbean Gold(tm) brands via distribution channels throughout the Caribbean region over the next couple years and then ready the rum products for exportation into the United States possibly as early as 2016.

This announcement marks a major step forward for the development stage Blue Water Global Group. The move into production, followed by marketing and sales of the rum, would produce the company's first significant revenue. Combined with the upcoming launch of Blue Water's first of several planned restaurants, shareholders can begin to see the company's plan to add value over the long term come to reality. Newly interested parties should take note as well – there is a large market opportunity in the Caribbean, and Blue Water Global Group is executing on its plan to profit from it.
