FT. MYER, VA / ACCESSWIRE / July 24, 2014 / American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association (AAFMAA) has announced that it will host the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) free Mobile Service Office at its Reston, Va. location on Saturday, August 2, 2014. This is the fourth-consecutive year veterans have been invited to AAFMAA’s historic Manor House to receive assistance with service-connected disability claims. Following record attendance of 118 veterans in 2013, the organizations are hoping to help even more veterans this year.
Veterans who would like to initiate or modify a service-connected disability claim with the Department of Veterans Affairs are encouraged to attend and meet with one of DAV’s National Service Officers. The service is free and open to all veterans.
Veterans should bring:
- Discharge Certificate (DD Form 214)
- VA claim number, if one has been assigned to them
- Social Security number
- Any other pertinent documentation regarding their claim(s)

During the event, AAFMAA will conduct two complimentary information sessions for veterans in attendance. BG Michael J Meese, USA, Ret., AAFMAA Chief Operating Officer and Secretary will present a session entitled, "Veterans in Today’s Economy" and SFC Arthur Lyons, ARNG, Senior Relationship Manager, AAFMAA Wealth Management & Trust LLC, will present a session entitled, "Financial Life Skills for Disabled Veterans."
