POMPANO BEACH, FL / ACCESSWIRE / July 11, 2014 / Cyclone Power Technologies Inc. (OTCQB: CYPW), developer of the all-fuel clean-tech Cyclone Engine, announced that the European Patent Office has issued a notice to grant the Company a patent on its Waste Heat Engine (the WHE).

The WHE converts heat from exhaust streams into mechanical power which can be used to run electric generators for distributed generation. The compact size and simple but robust design of these engines are well suited to enable small-scale waste-to-power equipment to operate at the site where waste is created and power is required. This has the ability to overcome costly logistics and management issues while generating electricity close to grid parity.

Harry Schoell, Cyclone’s Chairman and CTO, stated: "Receiving this new patent is an important development for our company and shareholders. It increases the value of our portfolio of intellectual property, and provides protection for our subsidiary, WHE Generation, to focus on expanding its marketing and business throughout the European territory. Success in these efforts will provide capital and revenue to Cyclone for years to come."

The EPO is the gateway for patent protection in 39 European nations, which collectively comprise the largest economy in the world by nominal GDP.  Many of these nations have well developed renewable energy programs and commercial markets for biomass and waste energy recovery.  This EEU patent marks the fifth patent for the WHE, inclusive of the United States, China, South Africa and Australia.

About Cyclone Power Technologies

Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine – an all-fuel, clean-tech engine with the power and versatility to run everything from waste energy electric generators and solar thermal systems to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CTO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is an eco-friendly external combustion engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel - including bio-diesels, syngas or solar - while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. The Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with two Society of Automotive Engineers’ AEI Tech Awards.  Additionally, Cyclone was named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department.
