Vancouver, BC / ACCESSWIRE / June 26, 2014 / Durango Resources Inc. (the "Company" or "Durango") announces that the Company has completed follow up exploration on the Decouverte (Discovery) property in the Frotet - Evans greenstone belt, in northern Quebec. The program included prospecting and rock / chip / channel sampling in the area of regional geochemical soil anomalies in gold (up to 174 ppb Au) and indicator base metals (NR May 6, 2014) to evaluate the gold potential of the property. It was designed to provide broad coverage of the property in the vicinity of airborne magnetic and electromagnetic targets, covering gossans, sulfide rich zones and iron formation.

Outcrop is limited (estimated at 3% max) so angular boulders / cobbles of sulphide rich units in glacial overburden along strike of airborne anomalies were also used to evaluate the area which has a regional structural system of mostly NW trending foliation/schistosity and a persistent N-S fracture system. Glacial movement is approximately north / south to NNE/SSW through the property.

The following significant alteration / mineralization zones were noted:

  1. 1)Disseminated pyrite (5%) associated with green mica (fuchsite?) disseminated and along slip (foliation) planes in a highly silicified / iron carbonatized, sheared mafic volcanic.

  1. 2)A gossan zone consisting of iron oxides with a pervasive "sulphur" smell in silicified / sheared mafic volcanics carrying 5% pyrite, with possible chalcopyrite and arsenopyrite, in the fresh (non oxidized rocks) as seen in picture below.

  1. 3)Mineralized zones 1 and 2 (above) are approximately 1 km apart along strike and may be related.

  1. 4)Silicified mafic volcanics with strong disseminated pyrite (up to 5%), 1-2% arsenopyrite and up to 15% magnetite associated with the magnetic high in the northeast portion of the claims as per picture below.

  1. 5)Iron formation units consisting of magnetite with folding and shearing are associated with a linear magnetic zone trending East-West in the southern part of the claims as per picture below. Although no sulphide mineralization was found associated with these units, they are excellent hosts for gold mineralization where cut by shear / fault systems which could exist in the magnetic low areas along the airborne magnetic trend.

A total of 102 outcrop samples, 65 float samples and 9 soils were taken. The samples have been submitted to Activation Laboratories in Ancaster, Ontario for analysis for precious and base metals plus gold indicator elements. Results are pending and will be released when received.

Marcy Kiesman, CEO, stated, "The Decouverte property is part of a regional structural block which may include the Troilus Mine, a copper/gold deposit located approximately 40km to the NE with the geology at Decouverte having many lithological and mineralogical similarities to Troilus. The Company has now completed a follow up exploration program, with positive indications for significant gold mineralization. We await the assay results to plan our next phase of exploration on this exciting property."

About Decouverte

The Decouverte (Discovery) property of 5,100 ha, is located 100km north of Chibougamau, Quebec in the Frotet - Evans greenstone belt. Durango carried out a 439 line kilometer helicopter borne DIGHEM EM/magnetic airborne geophysical survey on the property in 2011 (NR Nov 24, 2011). The property benefits from very favorable infrastructure including road accessibility (within 10km of Route du Nord and a myriad of logging roads), and a power line which bisects the property.
