New 2015-2016 Latin America brochure features three hot new destinations with a focus on local experiences, incredible overnight stays and making every moment count

Toronto, ON / ACCESSWIRE / June 11, 2014 / Imagine taking in the sunset at a remote lodge right in the heart of Peru's Colca Canyon, or falling asleep in a comfortable jungle cabin in Costa Rica and waking up to the vibrant sound of a toucan as a natural alarm clock. From incredible wildlife to endless adventure to colourful cities and guaranteed good times, Latin America is unlike anywhere else in the world. To help young travellers make every moment count and to feed the growing demand for travel to South America, Contiki (www.contiki.com) is expanding their popular Latin program for 2015-2016 to include 21 itineraries and introduce Belize, Guatemala, and one of the world's hottest travel spots - Colombia - as exciting new destinations for 2015.

Added to the brand's roster of Latin America itineraries are 7 new trips that feature Guatemala, Belize and Colombia, including the 14-day
Central Trail, the epic 25-day Mexico, Guatemala and Belize and the 11-day Hola Colombia. Heavily promoted as one of the world's fastest-growing travel destinations, Colombia offers up a heady mix of culture, adventure and epic landscapes. Contiki's exclusive Hola Colombia trip brings travellers right into the heart of the country, as they explore Bogota, Armenia, Medellin, Santa Marta and Cartagena and immerse themselves in the local culture. This vibrant journey offers up a taste of everything, as travellers explore the culinary side of Colombia with a cooking class, get their heart pumping on an exciting zipline adventure and enjoy the simple life with a traditional horse and carriage ride along the cobblestoned streets of historic Cartagena. It's all woven into the unique Contiki experience - inviting travellers to be a part of the heart and soul of these colourful destinations.

"Contiki has seen amazing success since our launch into Latin America in 2011 and we continue to experience incredible demand which has required us to increase departures into Costa Rica by 40% and Mexico by 70% alone this coming year,"
said Brad Ford, Contiki Canada President. "As we venture into these three exciting new destinations and continue to expand our existing product, it's important to us that our travellers are able to make every moment count on our trips. We know our audience is looking for a travel experience curated for the young traveller with a focus on spending more time in the destinations we visit and less time getting from A to B."

Contiki's focus continues to be on providing authentic travel experiences and supporting local communities in every instance possible. With an exclusive Backstage Pass to all things Latin America, travellers can expect to stay in independent hotels, eat at family restaurants and interact with locals in the many places they visit.

Contiki's Latin Backstage Pass includes:

-internal flights and private transport to cut down on travel time

-hotel accommodations (no tents ever, except for a comfortable eco-camp overnight with ensuites, double beds and WiFi)

-local meals (authentic BBQ, tortilla-making classes)

-regional expert Tour Managers and local guides

-a huge adrenalin rush with adventure activities like ziplining, whitewater rafting, canyoneering and horseback riding
