Cannes, France / ACCESSWIRE / May 15, 2014 / Hannover House, Inc. (OTC: HHSE) has locked the first major acquisition deal at this year's Cannes market with a $1-million advance and a 600-screen theatrical release commitment for the Joseph Stefano thriller, "Within Screaming Distance." The $5-mm budgeted indie production is represented by Odyssey Pictures Corporation, and is set on the night of the Sharon Tate murders by the Charles Manson Family. Three major stars are circling to attach to the $5-mm budgeted indie production, which is set for principal photography in Los Angeles and New Orleans this November.

The film is based on the highly anticipated screenplay by the legendary writer, Joseph Stefano (Hitchcock's "Psycho" and "The Outer Limits"). The psychological impact of the shocking murders hit hardest for the neighbors next door, who struggled with themselves about investigating into the screams and odd activities overheard. The mood is intense and thrilling, consistent with Stefano's greatest works.  Producers are John Foster, Ray Cavalieri, Ted Warren and Ed Robin.  No director will be set until key cast approvals are confirmed.

Financing for the Hannover House acquisition and theatrical costs are being provided by a private, New York-based funding group, who will be retaining a secured position in the rights to the film.  Hannover House is planning for a September, 2015 theatrical launch in all top 40 markets in the USA, as well as the top ten markets in Canada.  Home Media and Video-on-Demand release are expected for December, 2015.

"This is the sort of hi-end acquisition that makes the most sense for Hannover House," said CEO Eric Parkinson.  "In order for us to acquire major titles at the right licensing fee, we need to get involved at this pre-production stage.  A film of is caliber - with the top-tier level of casting required - would likely go for $5-million or more at Sundance or Toronto if we waited for its completion and jumped into the bidding wars that often circle such titles."

Hannover House is a U.S. based independent distributor, specializing in DVD and BluRay releases to mass merchants and kiosks.  The company is located in Northwest Arkansas, near its largest customer, Walmart Stores, Inc.  established 20-years ago, and now holding a firm foundation in home media, Hannover House is taking steps to move into higher profile theatrical titles.  The company has announced three additional productions here at Cannes, "Mother Goose: Journey to Utopia," "The Legend of Belle Starr," and "Black-Eyed Dog."
