J. C. Penney Shares Pop on JPMorgan Note; General Motors Becomes Least Favorite Big Automaker among U.S Suppliers

Shares of JCP closed up 4.32% on Monday with about 34.5 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. A positive analyst note from JPMorgan kept JCP shares at a "neutral" rating and said the second half of the year will be crucial in determining signs of safety at the retailer.

General Motors closed up 1.72% on about 9.5 million shares traded on Monday. The company was one of the most active stocks in the NYSE. The company was voted the least popular big automaker among U.S. suppliers in a survey.
