Shares of Pinnacle Foods Inc. closed up 13.20% on about 24 million shares traded on Monday. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NYSE and hit a new yearly high of $35.67 during intra-day trading. Hillshire Brands has agreed to pay about $4.2 billion to buy Pinnacle Foods in a cash-and-stock deal.

Facebook shares closed up 4.52% on about 48.5 million shares traded on Monday. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NASDAQ. It was revealed that Facebook may open a sales office in China to provide more support to local advertisers who use the website to reach customers overseas. The company’s vice president of corporate development told Reuters that the company was also exploring ways to provide even more support locally. He did not comment on how soon a China office would be open.

Shares of Credit Suisse Group closed modestly in the red down 0.66% on nearly 1.2 million shares traded. The state of New York’s banking regulator is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from the company regarding a probe into potential tax evasion. The probe could push the settlement with U.S. authorities over $2 billion according to sources close to the matter who told Reuters.

Shares of TRTC closed up 19.85% on about 3.7 million shares traded on Monday. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the OTC market despite the company not releasing any news. On May 5th, the company did announce that its subsidiary, MediFarm LLC, has completed filings for the special use permit process for medical marijuana licensing in unincorporated Clark County, Nevada. In addition, on April 22, 2014, MediFarm LLC filed requisite information with the Clark County Department of Business Licensing for four medical marijuana applications; two Dispensaries, one Cultivation Facility and one Production Facility.
