CBS Corporation Q1 Earnings Top Expectations; Rocket Fuel Reports Disappointing Q1 Revenue

Shares of CBS Corporation closed down 2.19% on about 15.2 million shares traded on Friday.  The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. Despite dropping, the company reported first quarter 2014 earnings of 78 cents which came in ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 75 cents.

NVIDIA Corporation shares closed down 2.43% this past Friday on almost 13.5 million shares traded. Despite the stock falling, the company reported first quarter earnings results and posted an increase in revenue to $1.103 billion from $954.7 million from the first quarter a year earlier. The company’s price target was also increased from $15 to $17 by Barclays.

Shares of FUEL closed down 21.50% on about 9 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ and hit a new yearly low of $19.31 during intra-day trading. The company reported a disappointed Q1 report. First-quarter revenue came in at 74.4 million, less than $76.21 million expected by the analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters. The company’s second-quarter revenue was between $88 million and $92 million which fell short of FactSet expectations of nearly $102 million.

Shares of MEIL closed up 17.81% on nearly 1.4 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ on Friday. The company announced it is close to a deal with a large national U.S. aggregator and a downstream distributor to provide up to 40 railcars of biodiesel, or up to 1 million gallons, a month for the remainder of 2014 and afterward.
