Created With Funds Raised Through Indiegogo," CRASH"the Movie debuts Sunday at Lifebook Theatre in Los Angeles

Hollywood, Calif / ACCESSWIRE / May 09, 2014 / Text Kills®, a community outreach organization, that over the last four years has traveled the country in an effort to spread awareness about the dangers and hazards of distracted driving, is pleased to announce the completion of their short film, entitled“CRASH.” The official film premiere is being held at the Lifebook Theater in Los Angeles, May 11th, 2014.

Since its founding in 2010, Text Kills® has taken its Text Kills® bus across the country in its mission to educate people and have them sign their bus, as part of their making personal commitments not to engage in Texting While Driving (TWD), and in the recent year text message bullying(TMB).

In their latest attempt to raise public awareness and encourage personal responsibility with smart phones, the outreach organization has created a new "superhero-like" figure. Text Kills®Raised approximately $15,000 through a successfulIndiegogo Campaign to cover the expenses of filming, producing and editing the film, and additional funds and services from actors, supporters and volunteers.

"We can't thank all of our contributors and backers enough for their support," commented Text Kills® founder Wayne Irving II.“We saw great potential in using crowdfunding as a way to spark the public's interest and participation in this project, and more generallyto get people more involved in helping to find a solution to the problem of distracted driving. “

CRASH

-written and directed by Matt Weinglass, executive produced by Ryan Foland, inspired by Brynna Irving.

Staring Randy Vinneau (www.imdb.com/name/nm2002531/ ) as the unlikely superhero forced to protect the lives of kids and parents who continue to text while driving by literally teleporting into their cars, powering down their phones and taking their car chargers before vanishing away.  Also starring Sharon Spense as Crash’s mom, at one point begs the viewers to quit texting while driving so her son doesn’t have to keep doing it for them day after day.

"We took a very unique approach with this film,” saidWeinglass.  “The more we talked to students and those effected by distracted driving, the more the concept evolved. We found that students wanted something different, something more light-hearted and fun.  Unlike with the gory videos and the doom and gloom TV ads we’ve all seen, here we have not only created a brand new superhero, but have found a fresh approach to a very serious matter.”

Text Kills® continues to see strong demand for its appearances (including the widely recognizable Text Kills® Tour Bus(see www.flickr.com/textkills for some great images of Text Kills®works) at rallies and educational events relating to TWD and distracted driving. Text Kills® is a registered trademark and outreach organization created by Iconosys, Inc., the smartphone technology development company, and its founder, Wayne Irving II, as part of an effort by Iconosys to create a grassroots/viral marketing tool that promotes the sale and/or distribution of the company's proprietary technological solutions to the problem of texting while driving. Iconosys' Drive Reply® product was one of the first driver attendant apps on the market, and is available for use on Android, and some Windows and Blackberry mobile devices. Drive Reply® and Text Kills® were inspired by Irving's concern for his daughters' safety as she was getting her license in 2010.  Iconosys is 10% owned by publicly traded Monster Arts, Inc. (OTCQB: APPZ), which company was itself a significant contributor – in terms of human resources, logistics and administrative support - to the above-described Text Kills® successful Indiegogo campaign and film production.

About Text Kills®:

To help spread the Text Kills®’ message of driver safety and responsibility, the Text Kills® Tour Bus traverses the country, collecting signatures on its sides from people pledging not to text and drive.  Since 2013, Text Kills® is managed by publicly traded company Monster Arts(OTCQB: APPZ) under a management services agreement.
