Hunter Bay Minerals Confirms Appointment of New Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer

London, UK / ACCESSWIRE / May 8 2014 / Hunter Bay Minerals plc ("Hunter Bay") (TSX-V: HBY) is pleased to announce that Matt Sutcliffe's appointment as a non-executive Chairman and a member of the board of directors and Natasha Tsai's appointment as Chief Financial Officer is now effective. Christopher Wilson and William Payne stepped down from their respective positions as Chairman/Director and Chief Financial Officer on Hunter Bay's filing of the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2013.

Hunter Bay wishes to give its sincere thanks to Dr. Wilson for his valuable service as Chairman and as a director of Hunter Bay since its initial public offering. Hunter Bay also wishes to thank William Payne for serving as Chief Financial Officer of Hunter Bay.

Matt Sutcliffe. Mr. Sutcliffe holds a PhD in Mining Engineering at the University of Nottingham. In 1990, Mr. Sutcliffe worked in production management at an underground nickel mine in Northern Canada. He then moved into Investment Banking working in the City of London as a mining analyst and corporate financier focusing in the resource sector. During this time, Mr. Sutcliffe was a mining analyst at T Hoare & Co, head of mining at Williams de Broe and a director of corporate finance at Evolution Beeson Gregory (which is now part of Investec Bank). At Evolution Beeson Gregory, Mr. Sutcliffe advised a large number of public natural resources companies, as well as arranging a number of stock exchange listings for junior and mid-tier mining and oil and gas companies on the LSE- AIM market. Mr. Sutcliffe is currently Chairman of Alexander Mining plc which is developing proprietary base metal processing technology. Mr. Sutcliffe has previously served as chairman and/or director of junior listed mining and oil companies on AIM, TSX Venture and ASX.

Natasha Tsai. Ms. Tsai brings several years of experience and a thorough understanding of accounting issues related to public companies. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Redtail Metals Corp. and also provides consulting services for Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd., Inca One Resources Corp., Pacific Hunt Energy Corp., and Cornerstone Metals Inc. She was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Arriba Resources Inc. and the Corporate Controller of Dejour Energy Inc., a junior oil and gas company. Ms. Tsai obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2007, and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 2001.
