Shares of Delta Air Lines closed up 0.37% on Tuesday with about 13.3 million shares traded almost. The company announced that since the 1st quarter US earning season begun in April, the stock has become one of the 10 best-performing stocks. The company also revealed it has expanded its share buyback plan and lifted its dividend.

Shares of VIVUS Inc. closed up 7.23% on about 10.9 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ. The company reported better-than-expected first-quarter results including an almost 800% increase in revenue to $36.7 million. The company’s loss came in at just $15.6 million, or $0.15 per share. This is in comparison to a loss of $53.6 million, or $0.53 per share a year ago.

Shares of Walt Disney Company closed modestly in the red on Tuesday with nearly 10.7 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. The company reported higher profit than Wall Street expected for the quarter ended in March. Profit was boosted by the continued strength of the company’s blockbuster animated film "Frozen."
