Office Depot to Close At Least 400 Stores; Morgan Stanley Gets Fined $5M

Shares of Office Depot closed up 15.83% on Tuesday on a little over 61 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active on the NSYE after the company announced that it would be closing at least 400 stores. As a result of its merger with Office Max, there was an over-lap in locations. All of the closings are expected to occur by the end of 2016 and are also expected to result in at least $75 million in annual savings.

Shares of CPST closed down nearly 15% on Tuesday with around 26.7 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ. The company pre-reported a huge revenue miss for the current quarter. According to a SeekingAlpha report, the company pre-reported a revenue miss of 16.4% which is the second worst miss in 13 quarters for the company.

Shares of Morgan Stanley closed down a little over 2% on Tuesday and traded about 16.2 million shares. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has fined the company’s wealth management unit $5m over sales of initial public offerings to retail investors including Facebook. The unit failed to differentiate between “indications of interest” and “conditional offers” when selling 83 IPOs to its customers.

Shares of Integrated Cannabis Solutions closed up nearly 85% on Tuesday with about 3 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the OTC market.
