The company released positive first-quarter results. Quarterly revenue rose 21%, to $31 million, which brought adjusted net income of $1.3 million, or $0.03 per diluted share. Analysts, on average, were looking for adjusted net income of $0.03 per share but on lower sales of $29.52 million.

Shares of MXWL closed up about 10% on Friday with nearly 3.4 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers and even hit a new yearly high of $17.02 during intra-day trading. The company posted first quarter 2014 earnings of 4 cents per share, which beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of 8 cents.
