eBay Offers Weak 2nd Quarter Guidance; Amicus Therapeutics Delivers Positive Migalastat Trial Results

Shares of Oi SA closed down 16.59% on Tuesday making it one of the biggest decliners on the NYSE. The stock traded 137 million shares however, making it also one of the most actively traded. The company priced a secondary public offering of its stock.

Shares of eBay fell 4.5% in after-market trading on Tuesday with nearly 14 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NASDAQ. The company recorded a loss in the first-quarter due to a hefty tax charge on foreign earnings. eBay’s adjusted results beat expectations but the company offered disappointing second-quarter guidance and shares fell 4.5 percent in aftermarket trading.

Shares of Amicus Therapeutics closed up 20.65% on Tuesday with nearly 5.5 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ. The company announced that its lead drug migalastat was effective in treating patients with Fabry disease in a late-stage trial. Amicus found the drug effective in patients after 12 months of treatment in a trial that tested migalastat as a form of monotherapy in patients with Fabry disease, a disorder in which a fat called globotriaosylceramide builds up in the body's cells.

Shares of WTER sank 60.58% on Tuesday with about 18.6 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners in the OTCBB market and hit a new yearly low of $0.10. The company announced an initial product acceptance at Core-Mark International's Corona, California distribution center. The Company will also be participating at the Core-Mark Las Vegas Trade Show on May 9 & 10th in order to introduce the product line to the Corona, Los Angeles, Bakersfield and Las Vegas divisions.
