General Motors to Appeal for Protection against Lawsuits; Bank of America sees Growth with Mobile Deposits

Shares of BAC closed down 1.59% on about 173 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. On Wednesday, Chief Executive Brian Moynhian said more than 10% of all the deposits that consumers make at the lender “are now done through mobile devices as people effectively carry a branch in their pocket.”

Shares of NEWL closed down 37.53% on about 17 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ. The company announced on April 8th that it has previously signed a term sheet with a leading financial institution to provide 75% debt financing for two second-hand Panamax vessels for a total of $35M. The two vessels are expected to be delivered to NewLead's fleet within the next three months, subject to the receipt of the necessary financing for the balance of the purchase price.

Shares of GM closed up 1.83% on about 18.1 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. The company announced that it is going to appeal to a New York federal bankruptcy judge for protection against legal claims related to the late recall of vehicles with defective ignition switches. The company is currently facing more than 36 ignition switch lawsuits.
