La Quint Holdings Makes its Debut on the NYSE; Electronics Arts Hires Amy Hennig for Star Wars Project

La Quinta Holdings made its debut on the NYSE on Wednesday and traded 25 million shares. The stock was one of the most active stocks in the NYSE. The IPO announced Tuesday night raised $651 million and valued the company at about $2.1 billion. The stock added 78 cents, or 4.6 percent, to $17.78 Wednesday afternoon after declining earlier.

Shares of DCTH closed up nearly 1,200% on Wednesday on about 1.2 million shares traded. The company recently completed its acquisition of certain assets of Velocity Medical Solutions, LLC, which was announced last month. However, since the announcement of completion of the acquisition, shares of VAR dropped 1.0% to close at $83.94 yesterday.

Shares of EA closed down nearly 2% on Wednesday with nearly 7 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NASDAQ. The company recently hired Amy Hennig of Sony's Uncharted fame as the creative director of the Star Wars project.

Shares of MYSK closed up 34.44% on Wednesday and hit a new yearly high of $11.45 during intra-day trading. Earlier this month the company announced that it had acquired intellectual property rights and technology being used in the medical cannabis industry.
