PHILADELPHIA, PA / ACCESSWIRE / April 2, 2014 / Olfactory Biosciences Corp (OLFC) is pleased to launch today a new special improved and timely product, NOXO Sensory Balm™. http://noxoinfo.com/sensory

The new NOXO Sensory Balm(tm) is being launched at a time of heightened awareness of the alarming, increasing incidence of autism. At the same time, a growing body of research into sensory perception reveals quantifiable differences in brain structure, confirming a biological basis for sensory processing disorder (SPD) that sets it apart from neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and autism.

Increasingly, clinicians are struggling to differentiate between these conditions to make an accurate diagnosis and perhaps more important, to provide the most appropriate interventions. Regardless of whether a child, teen or adult has autism, SPD or another conditions, both the person, family members, teachers and other caregivers need help.

Sensory processing challenges can include out-of-proportion reactions to everyday sensations that simply do not bother others. These issues can include hypersensitivity to smell, touch, noise, visuals, movement and more.

This hypersensitivity, typically seen in its most severe form in people with autism, can make everyday life very uncomfortable or even painful.

New NOXO Sensory Balm(tm), applied topically under the nose of a person with sensory issues, may provide relief from environmental odors and sensory processing issues that have the potential to trigger maladaptive coping responses.

The NOXO molecules transport their "messages" directly to the brain's emotional center–the limbic system–which can change behavior by reducing the intensity or the way the brain receives sensory messages.

NOXO Sensory Balm(tm) was invented by Olfactory Biosciences Corp using both the company’s proprietary science and that of the NOBEL Prize in Medicine Winners of 2004 Richard Axel and Linda Buck. The company has been successful in targeting olfactory receptors with the company’s proprietary balm’s scents resulting in the desired modifications.
