Maple Leaf 2013 Oil & Gas Income Limited Partnership Appoints Directors

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / April 1, 2014 /ML 2013 Oil & Gas Income Management Corp. ("ML Oil & Gas"), general partner of the Maple Leaf 2013 Oil & Gas Income Limited Partnership (the "Partnership"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Messrs.' Adam Thomas, Dan Gundersen, Lowell Jackson and Martin Cheyne to the ML Oil & Gas board of directors. Mr. Thomas has also been appointed as ML Oil & Gas’ President and along with Mr. Gundersen, will be responsible for evaluating oil and gas investment opportunities for the Partnership.

Adam Thomas, President and Director, CFA, CIM
Mr. Thomas is an investment professional bringing 13 years of buy-side and corporate finance experience focused on the Energy sector. 

Most recently Mr. Thomas was President and CEO of Casimir Capital Ltd. where he founded the Energy Group in July 2010 completing 47 oil and gas transactions totaling $1.5 BN in capital. Mr. Thomas was involved in financing such companies as Americas Petrogas, Arsenal Energy, DeeThree Exploration, Crocotta Energy, Iona Energy, Sterling Resources, Tag Oil, Westfire Energy and Whitecap Resources. 

Dan Gundersen, Managing Director, P.Eng., CFA
Mr. Gundersen has over 17 years of oil and gas industry experience. He is the former Vice President, Energy Finance for Sandstorm Metals & Energy Ltd. where $33 MM was deployed into oil and gas streaming transactions. Prior to Sandstorm, he was Vice President, Engineering for DeeThree Exploration Ltd., a Calgary-based TSX-listed oil and gas exploration and production company. Prior thereto, he was Vice President, Engineering at Dual Exploration Inc. and he has also held management roles with Cyries Energy Inc. and Devlan Exploration Inc.

Lowell Jackson, Director, P.Eng.
Mr. Jackson is currently Executive Chairman of Kaisen Energy Corp., a private oil and gas company with current production of 1,100 boe/d. Prior to Kaisen, Mr. Jackson was President and CEO of Westfire Energy. Over a period of 5 years Mr. Jackson and his team grew production from 14 boe/d to 11,500 boe/d, or 81% per share. At the time of sale Westfire had a net asset value of $871 MM vs. capital raised of $265 MM. 

Martin Cheyne, Director
Mr. Cheyne is currently President and CEO of DeeThree Exploration Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas company founded in January 2007 with $3 MM. Mr. Cheyne and his team have successfully grown DeeThree to a market capitalization of about $870 MM with current production of 11,500 boe/d.

ML Oil & Gas also announces that Mr. Jonathan Lexier has resigned as President and a Director of ML Oil & Gas to pursue other business opportunities.
