BROOKLYN, NY / myprgenie.com / ACCESSWIRE / April 3, 2014 / Dr. Michael Gabriel of Gabriel Pediatrics, a Staten Island pediatric care center, responds to an article published on March 22 by Fox19.com, which recommends ways to best avoid the harmful effects of the spring allergy season.

According to an article published on March 22th by FOX19 News titled "Allergy season springs into bloom," the dreaded spring season, for those who are vulnerable to the hay fever (allergic reactions to pollen), is now upon us.

Dr. Michael Gabriel of Gabriel Pediatrics offers ways to avoid and/or lessen allergy symptoms.

- Update Subscriptions: "For those who are especially vulnerable to spring allergies, it is important to have your allergy medications updated and available to have at a moment's notice," he says.

- Monitor Pollen Levels: "If you know you are susceptible to being effected by pollen, you should monitor pollen levels on a daily basis. If meteorologists are warning of high pollen levels, it may be best to limit outside exposure."

Dr. Michael Gabriel of Gabriel Pediatrics, a Staten Island pediatric care center, says that preparation is key. "It happens every year. People should be ready for it in order to lessen any harmful effects that come with the warmer weather," says Gabriel. "Families should ensure that their children have received all their medication and respective immunotherapies before the allergy season arrives."
