MIRAMAR, FL / ACCESSWIRE / April 1, 204 / USA Track & Field (USATF) will host the Youth Olympic Trials in Miramar, Florida, USA, on April 4th and 5th, 2014, at the City’s world-class Ansin Sports Complex.  The Complex has one of only four Class 2 internationally certified tracks in the United States.  Ansin is located at 10801 Miramar Blvd, Miramar, Florida 33025.  This prestigious international track & field competition is free to the public.

Throughout the two day event, approximately 60 athletes ages 16 and 17 will compete in track and field events including sprint races, relays, hurdles, middle distance track events, as well as jumping and throwing events.  The competitors are from Non-CARIFTA (non-members of the Caribbean Free Trade Association) Member Federations, including Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United States.

The USATF selected the Ansin Sports Complex because it is structurally viable to track & field events.  It is a 24-acre property with a stadium that seats over 4,000 spectators.  The 8-lane oval/9-lane straightaway track boasts a Mondo surface and is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).  In addition to the appeal of the sporting complex, the City of Miramar offers all of the desired amenities for an event of this scale including proximity to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the availability of hotels, restaurants and other local charms.
