Hop-On Inc. and Microsoft sign world-wide patent licensing agreement; Goodrich Petroleum falls on earnings

Shares of Goodrich Petroleum sank 19.69% on Wednesday with a little more than 16 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners in the NYSE after the company’s results trailed expectations. The company reported Q4 adjusted EPS of (57c) and revenue of $50.6M, compared to analysts' consensus estimates of (48c) and $62.74M, respectively. Production averaged 80,800 Mcfe per day for the quarter. The company said it anticipates producing between 3,800–4,200 Bbls/d of oil and 48,000–50,000 Mcf/d of natural gas during the first quarter.

Shares of Conns Inc. plummeted more than 42% on Wednesday after revealing in its fourth-quarter earnings preview of higher loan delinquencies from customers. The percentage of the loan portfolio delinquent 60 days or more had been raised by 30 basis points from the end of October to 8.8% by Jan. 31, the end of its fiscal year, exceeding its original expectation for bad debt. As a comparison, the New York Fed reported Q4 credit card debt delinquent 90 days or more had increased to 9.5% from 9.4% in Q3. The stock saw a significant advance in trading volume with a little more than 25 million shares traded.

Shares of Hop-On Inc. exploded on Thursday closing up 400%. The stock was a big winner in the OTC market with over 2.1 billion shares traded. The big breakout came after it was revealed that Microsoft Corp. and Hop-on, Inc., signed a worldwide patent licensing agreement that provides broad coverage under Microsoft's patent portfolio for devices running the Android and Chrome OS, including smartphones and tablets. While the contents of the agreement are confidential, the parties indicate that Microsoft will receive royalties from Hop-on under the agreement.
