Ctrip.com continues to soar while former Microsoft Exec named to the Board of Directors at Plandai

Solar semiconductor company, SunEdison popped on Tuesday to close up 6.75% on about 22.5 million shares traded. The company announced that it had confidentially filed an S-1 to publicly issue shares of an anticipated solar project. "The number of shares of common stock to be sold and the price range for the proposed offering has not yet been determined. The initial public offering is expected to commence after the SEC completes its review process, subject to market and other conditions," the company said in a statement.

Shanghai-based Ctrip.com continued to see more gains on Tuesday, adding to the gains it has accumulated since last Thursday when it reported fourth quarter earnings that beat analyst estimates. In the three months to December, the travel site recorded per-share earnings of 28 cents, a nickel higher than what analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected. Revenue of $237.94 million was 31% higher than a year earlier and beat estimates by $8 million. Over fiscal 2013, the company generated earnings of $1.10 a share, six cents higher than consensus, and revenue of $889.83 million which beat by $12.6 million. Since Thursday the stock has gained nearly 30%.

Worlds Inc. shares soared to close up 28.95% on Tuesday despite no significant news released. The company announced last month that it has received its 9th patent from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO): no. 8,640,028 titled "System and Method for Enabling Users to Interact in a Virtual Space." The patent relates to computer architecture for three-dimensional graphical multi-user interactive virtual world systems also known as Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG). The stock traded 1.6 million shares on Tuesday compared to an average of less than 300,000 shares.

Jamen Shively, a former Microsoft executive turned marijuana entrepreneur, has gone public by being named to the Board of Directors at Plandaí. Some are calling Shively the "Bill Gates of Cannabis.” Plandaí recently completed a deal with Diego Pellicer, Inc. that allows it to market its Phytofare™ Cannabis extracts under the Diego Pellicer Gold brand. Shares of PLPL closed up 16.34% on Tuesday with about 3.1 million shares traded and soared to a new 52-week high of $1.86 during intra-day trading.
