Marin Software Incorporated (NYSE: MRIN) shares closed up 14.10 percent on Wednesday with over 1.2 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the NYSE after reporting better-than-expected fourth-quarter results. Quarterly revenue rose 28% year over year to $21.8 million, which translated to an adjusted net loss of $0.21 per share. Analysts, on average, were looking for a net loss of $0.23 per share on sales of $21.26 million.

OXiGENE, Inc. (NASDAQ: OXGN) shares closed down 24.64 percent on Wednesday with about 5.8 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ and sank to a new 52-week low of $1.96 during intra-day trading. The company announced that it has entered into definitive agreements with investors to purchase an aggregate of approximately $12 million of units, in a registered public offering, at a price per unit of $2.05. Each unit consists of one share of common stock and 0.5 of a warrant to purchase a share of OXiGENE common stock.

Arcam AB (OTC: AMAVF) - shares closed down 9.26 percent on Wednesday with about 140,000 shares traded. The company was one of the biggest droppers in the OTC market. The company recently reported its fourth-quarter and full-year 2013 earnings. Quarterly results were disappointing when compared with last year's results, but the company said they're still quite impressive on a relative basis compared with the other 3-D printing companies.

AMCOL International Corporation (NYSE: ACO) shares closed up 12.31 percent on Wednesday with about 3.1 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the NYSE and even hit a new 52-week high of $41.67 during intra-day trading. The company announced that it has signed a definitive merger agreement with Imerys S.A. pursuant to which AMCOL shareholders will receive $41 per share in cash for each share of AMCOL common stock that they own, without interest.
