Model N, Inc. (NYSE: MODN) shares closed up 18.71 percent on Tuesday with about 1.2 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the NYSE. The big move came after the company reported first-quarter earnings that surpassed analysts' expectations.  The company reported a year-over-year revenue decline of 3% to $21.6 million from $22.3 million. Model N reported a non-GAAP net loss of three cents a share. Analysts had expected a loss of 12 cents a share on revenue of $21.26 million, according to Barron's.

Cadence Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CADX) shares closed up 26.47 percent on Tuesday with about 82 million shares traded. The stock had one of the biggest gains on the NASDAQ and experienced one of the biggest volume advances as well. During intra-day trading Cadence hit a high of $14.03 representing a new 52-week high for the company. An Irish pharmaceutical company agreed to acquire Cadence Pharmaceuticals Inc. in San Diego for about $1.3 billion in an effort to boost its specialty drugs portfolio.

BioElectronics Corporation (OTC: BIEL) shares closed up 25 percent on about 60 million shares traded on Tuesday. The stock was one of the biggest gainers in the OTC market. The breakout came despite the fact that the company had no significant news. The company announced at the end of last year that Pros Apac Corporation (www.pros-apac.com) based in Manila will be the exclusive dental distributor for RecoveryRx® in the Philippines. The global dental equipment and consumables market had an estimated size of US$20 billion. This market, driven by technological advancements, is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7%, reaching an estimated size of $27.6 billion by 2015.

MEDL Mobile Holdings, Inc. (OTC: MEDL) shares closed up 10.18 percent on nearly 3.2 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks in the OTC market and hit a new 52-week high of $0.48 during intra-day trading despite any news being released. MEDL Mobile Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiaries, develops, incubates, markets, and aggregates mobile application software or Apps.
