Wall Street Fundamentals Releases New In-Depth Stock Reports on DNKN, K, PM and VMC

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 Index surged to its biggest gain in seven weeks Thursday on strong earnings from major companies such as Disney and upbeat employment data. The Dow gained 1.22 percent to close at 15,628.53, while the S&P 500 Index gained 1.24 percent to close at 1,773.43. On Wednesday, the Labor Department reported jobless claims declined 20,000 to 331,000 last week. The drop was larger than the median forecast of 16,000, according to economists surveyed by Bloomberg.

Dunkin Brands Group Inc. (NASDAQ: DNKN) shares traded in the range of $47.62 to $50.41 Thursday before settling to close at $48.89, an increase of 3.36 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $48.96 and $49.46 levels with some support at $48.66 and $47.12. The company reported revenues were $183.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2013, an increase of 13.0 percent year-over-year. Shares of Dunkin Brands Group have gained approximately 1.5 percent year-to-date.

Kellogg Company (NYSE: K) shares traded in the range of $55.69 to $57.82 Thursday before settling to close at $57.74, an increase of 0.64 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $58.55, $59.08 and $59.51 levels. The company reported earnings of $818.0 million, or $2.24 per share, for the fourth quarter of 2013, compared to a loss of $32.0 million, or $0.09 per share, a year ago. Shares of the Kellogg Company have fallen approximately 5.0 percent year-to-date.

Philip Morris International Inc. (NYSE: PM) shares traded in the range of $76.66 to $78.79 Thursday before settling to close at $78.11, an increase of 1.57 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $80.49 and $82.77 levels with some support at $76.62. The company reported diluted earnings per share of $5.26 for the full year 2013, an increase of 1.7 percent when compared to a year ago. Shares of Philip Morris have fallen approximately 10.0 percent year-to-date.

Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE: VMC) shares traded in the range of $61.58 to $67.97 Thursday before settling to close at $65.66, an increase of 9.09 percent. The stock appears have some support at the $63.10, $62.23 and $61.22 levels. The company reported net sales were $78.0 million for the fourth quarter of 2013, an increase of 14.0 percent year-over-year. Shares of Vulcan Materials have gained approximately 10.0 percent year-to-date.
