The ADT Corporation (NYSE: ADT) shares closed down 16.95 percent on Thursday with about 36.6 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest decliners on the NYSE and hit a new 52-week low of $29.56 during intra-day trading. The fall came after a disappointing earnings report. First quarter fiscal 2014 GAAP net income declined to $77 million or 39 cents per share from $105 million or 44 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.

Viper Networks Inc. (OTC: VPER) shares closed up 42.11 percent on Thursday with about 335 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers and most active stocks in the OTC marketplace. The company announced earlier in the week that it has entered into advanced stage negotiations to secure funding through a domestic lender. Viper Networks, Inc. (in partnership with Apollo Metro) is a manufacturer and distributor of highly-efficient LED lighting to provide superior turnkey LED lighting solutions for metropolitan areas (streets and highways), parking lots and warehousing facilities anywhere.

Accelrys Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL) shares closed up 29.32 percent on Thursday with a little over 25 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ and hit a new 52-week high of $12.58 during intra-day trading. Dassault Systemes (NASDAQOTH: DASTY) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Accelrys (NASDAQ: ACCL) in an all-cash deal for $12.50 a share , a 28% premium over Jan. 30's close of $9.72 a share.

Aerogrow International, Inc. (OTC: AERO) shares closed up 36.99 percent on Thursday with about 775,000 shares traded. The stock hit a new 52-week high of $9.00 during intra-day trading and was one of the biggest gainers in the OTC market. The company had no significant news to explain the move. AeroGrow International, Inc. engages in the development, marketing, direct-selling, and wholesale of indoor garden systems for consumer use to the gardening, cooking, healthy eating, and home and office décor markets.
