Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NKTR) shares gained 6.79 percent to close at $13.99 a share Thursday. The stock traded between $12.96 and $14.12 on volume 6.50 million shares traded. The company priced a public offering of 8.5 million shares of its common stock at a price of $12.75 a share. Shares of Nektar Therapeutics have are up approximately 55.0 percent in the past year.

NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT) shares spiked 14.36 percent to close at $36.48 a share Thursday. The stock traded between $33.57 and $36.70 on volume 1.54 million shares traded. The company reported GAAP revenues were $110.4 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2014, an increase of 21.0 percent when compared to a year ago. Shares of NetScout Systems have gained approximately 45.0 percent in the past year.
