FuelCell Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: FCEL) shares closed up 17.36 percent on Friday with about 14.3 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ. Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (OTCBB: FMCC) shares closed down a modest 1.74 percent on Friday with about 2.5 million shares traded. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collected $7.9 billion last year in settlements with seven major financial institutions to resolve lawsuits filed by the firms' regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said last Thursday.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) shares closed up a very modest 0.77 percent on Friday with about 14.2 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest volume advancers on the NYSE and hit a new 52-week high of $58.95 during intra-day trading. The company recently agreed to settle a Pittsburgh lender’s lawsuit after a judge ordered the New York-based bank to turn over the government’s draft complaint at the center of its $13 billion deal with regulators.
