Analysts expected adjusted earnings of just $0.35 per share on sales of $383.13 million.

BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY) shares closed up 15.52 percent on Friday with nearly 140 million shares traded. The stock was one of the biggest gainers on the NASDAQ. The company reported a massive $4.4-billion loss in its fiscal third quarter and a 56% drop in revenue in its first quarterly report under new Chairman and Chief Executive John Chen. Chen said on a conference call with analysts Friday that BlackBerry "has a really good shot" of turning a profit in 2016 and management will try its best to achieve the goal.

Tiger Oil and Energy, Inc. (OTC: TGRO) shares closed up 24.79 percent on about 8 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks in the OTC market trading over 8 million shares. The stock even hit a new 52-week high of $1.08 during intra-day trading. The company announced that it has secured a commitment from a nonrelated source for the $600,000 required to proceed with drilling plans for the Cowley County KS in partnership with TOTO Energy LLC. Tiger will earn a 30% working interest and a 24.45% Net Royalty Interest in the wells drilled and fracked.
