Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares gained 0.50% to $141.43 in the pre-market hour. the company on Dec. 18 said its Model S and charging system didn’t cause a fire in a Southern California garage last month. While there was a fire at the wall socket where the vehicle was plugged in, the car itself wasn’t part of the fire, Palo Alto, California-based Tesla said in e-mailed comments. Investigators can’t conclude whether the fire started in the wall socket or was caused by the charger, and found it had nothing to do with the battery, Steve Concialdi, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority, said by phone.

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) shares jumped 0.78% to $57.94 in the pre-market hour. On Dec. 16, Bob Peck from SunTrust downgraded shares of Twitter from Buy to Hold also as a valuation call and has had a $50 price target since before the shares went public. He wrote “We are lowering our rating on Twitter to Hold from Buy, as the stock has surpassed our year end 2014 $50 target by ~20%. We remain extremely positive on the long term opportunity for the company due to several factors: Twitter has become one of the major Internet platforms, the company is still in a very nascent stage of its life cycle; Twitter has significant optionality in front of it; and the company has a strong management team with a unique vision of permeating the “interest graph.”

EMC Corporation(NYSE:EMC) shares gained 1.74% to $24.02 in the pre-market hour. The company’s board of directors on Dec. 13 has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per share of common stock. The dividend will be payable on January 23, 2014 to stockholders of record on January 8, 2014.
