Topic:

Declan Resources Inc. ("Declan" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:LAN) is pleased to provide the following update related to its Firebag River Property, located in northeast Alberta.

An initial review of the Firebag River Property in November, by Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta has shown encouraging values for high-quality frac sand from samples collected in Cretaceous sandstones of the McMurray Formation. Fieldwork outlined an approximate north-south trending surface exposure of semi-consolidated McMurray sands exceeding a length of 5 kilometers. From this exposure several samples were collected at depths of less than 2m and were submitted for analysis to Loring Laboratories Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta. Results showed high silica content, quality sphericity and roundness values, and a high percentage of sand falling within the preferred 20/40 and 40/70 mesh sizes.

Declan is encouraged by the findings and will pursue this opportunity along with its principal objective of uranium exploration at Firebag River.

Situated along the Saskatchewan/Alberta border, approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Fort McMurray, the Firebag River Property is ideally situated for strategic partnerships. An important advantage of this location is the significantly reduced transportation cost. With the current growth in shale gas exploration, frac sand has become a valuable commodity

Declan's President, Wayne Tisdale, states, "We are extremely excited about this potential frac sand opportunity. We will be following up shortly with a more in depth sampling program targeting this formation within the Firebag Property."

The geological information reported has been reviewed and approved by Garry Clark, P.Geo., Director, who is a qualified person under the definitions established by National Instrument 43-101.
