Nokia Corporation (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) shares fell 0.20% to $7.52. The European Union on Dec. 4 said it has approved Microsoft Corp.'s $7.3 billion plan to acquire Nokia Corp.'s mobile phone business. The European Commission, the body's executive arm, said it has "concluded that the transaction would not raise any competition concerns," noting that "there are only modest overlaps between the parties' activities and the links between Microsoft's mobile operating systems, mobile applications and enterprise mail server software with Nokia's smart mobile devices are unlikely to lead to competitors being shut out from the market."

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) shares fell 2.15% to $3.61. AMD‘s stock had its “neutral” rating reaffirmed by Zacks in a research report issued to clients and investors on Dec. 12. They currently have a $3.75 price target on the stock. Zacks' target price indicates a potential upside of 1.90% from the stock's previous close.'

Additionally, the company on Nov. 19 announced that it was selected for an award of $3.1 million for a research project associated with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Extreme-Scale Computing Research and Development Program, known as "DesignForward." The DOE award is an expansion of work started as part of another two-year award AMD received in 2012 called "FastForward."

Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA) shares fell 2.26% to $3.90.
