Wall Street Fundamentals Releases New In-Depth Stock Reports on AGNC, CIM, HTS and NLY

Mortgage REITs such as Annaly, American Capital Agency, Armour Residential, and Hatteras have struggled recently due to a rapid rise in interest rates. Data from mortgage-finance company Freddie Mac has shown that average U.S. mortgage rates declined slightly for the week ended Thursday. The 30-Year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.42 percent, down from 4.46 percent a week prior, and up from 3.32 percent a year ago. 30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgages averaged approximately 4.16 percent in early-November. Here is how some Mortgage REITs reacted Thursday:

American Capital Agency Corp. (NASDAQ: AGNC) shares traded in the range of $19.64 to $20.01 Thursday before settling to close at $19.90, an increase of 0.45 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $20.39 and $21.45 levels with some support at $19.82. Shares of American Capital Agency have fallen approximately 30.0 percent year-to-date.

Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE: CIM) shares traded in the range of $3.04 to $3.10 Thursday before settling to close at $3.05, a decrease of 1.29 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $3.05 and $3.06 levels with some support at $3.03. Shares of Chimera have gained approximately 16.0 percent year-to-date.

Hatteras Financial Corp. (NYSE: HTS) shares traded in the range of $16.45 to $16.75 Thursday before settling to close at $16.57, a decrease of 1.13 percent. Annaly Capital Management, Inc. (NYSE: NLY) shares traded in the range of $9.88 to $10.07 Thursday before settling to close at $9.97, a decrease of 0.10 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at the $9.99 and $10.37 levels with some support at $9.84. Shares of Annaly Capital Management have fallen approximately 28.0 percent year-to-date.
