Vancouver, Canada - BayStreet.ca Media Corp. (http://www.baystreet.ca/), a leading financial information site released its latest company spotlight on Alabama Graphite Corp. (CNSX:ALP) (OTC:ABGPF).
Investors have been speculating for years now about when the great graphite boom is going to hit North America since 2010 when China announced its plans to limit exports and hoard most of the production in the country for itself. As China produces about 80 percent of the world's graphite, it shouldn't be a big surprise that investors have been waiting for a catalyst to drive prices higher, possibly at or above 2011 highs of $3,000 per tonne. China has announced its intentions to sharply consolidate and better regulate its graphite mining industry by shuttering over 200 mines, which will choke supply by at least 10 percent.
Graphite is now categorized as a "critical metal" in China, the United States and the European Union, with Byron Capital Markets estimating that demand will outstrip supply as soon as the end of 2015 at the current ratios. It looks like that catalyst graphite investors were waiting for is coming quickly.
