The Walt Disney Company(NYSE:DIS) will reportedly start laying off staff at its studio and consumer product divisions in the next two weeks, as part of its cost-cutting measures.

The job cuts will be focused on the marketing and home video units and to a small extent, the animation wing.
Staff reductions at the consumer products unit will result mostly from attrition.

Disney has already begun layoffs at the LucasArts games studio on Wednesday. Last year, it laid off 200 people at the Disney Interactive video game, as the company’s focus shifted from console games to online and mobile
entertainment. 100 more staffers have been laid off since.

Likewise, the company had cut jobs at the publishing unit last year when Disney restructured its consumer products unit and moved its operations to Burbank from New York.
