U.S. transport regulators have approved The Boeing Company(NYSE:BA)’s  request to start testing a redesigned battery for the 787 Dreamliner.There is another bit of good news. The company is on the verge of signing a $15 billion deal to supply about 170 single-aisle 737 planes to budget Irish carrier Ryanair.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration will permit two aircraft limited flights to test the new battery design. "We won't allow the plane to return to service unless we're satisfied that the new design ensures the safety of the aircraft and its passengers," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood .

The new design has to pass a series of tests before it is approved and the FAA will be closely involved in the certification process.

Plane buyers and operators expect the 787 to re-enter service in June. Boeing shares closed, at $84.16 on the New York Stock Exchange, up $1.22, or 1.5 percent and traded after hours at $84.44. Shares of the battery maker for Dreamliner, Japan's GS Yuasa Corp, climbed 0.9 percent in Tokyo this morning.

Meanwhile, Mickey Mouse is coming back to the small screen.  The 19 2-D episodes will start on June 28 on The Waltm Disney Company(NYSE:DIS) Channel. They will also be available online at Disney.com and the Watch Disney Channel app. 

In a preview on the website, Mickey and Minnie are seen working at a Paris café. The characters in the film speak French and there are no subtitles, which are anyway not necessary to follow what is happening.

Mickey Mouse will be in a new setting in each episode- Santa Monica, New York, Beijing, Tokyo, Venice, the Alps and so on.  Along with Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto will also have guest appearances.

Meanwhile, The Western Union Company(NYSE:WU) has launched two new mobile apps that run on Apple’s iPhones and iPads and devices that run on Google's Android operating system.

One of the speedpay mobile payment apps gives consumers more flexibility in handling transactions related to financial services, mortgage, insurance companies, cable, telecom and others, and allows them to download the apps directly from the billers.

The other mobile app facilitates viewing and payment of utility bills, monitoring of power usage and tracking and reporting power outages.

David Shapiro, senior vice president of payments said: "Western Union recognizes that consumers are seeking more bill payment options and we are committed to providing a comprehensive set of payment solutions, including mobile apps, (short message service) and mobile Web, as well as walk-in, phone and online payment services."
