"BHP Billiton is fully committed to operating with integrity and the Group's policies specifically prohibit engaging in bribery in all its forms," read BHP’s emailed statement.
Reportedly, BHP spent millions of dollars between 2000 and 2008 on a major Olympics sponsorship deal and hospitality package which involved several VIPs, including senior government officials and CEOs of Chinese steel and mineral company.
However, BHP was not one of the 12 sponsors in the International Olympic Committee's elite "TOP" program and was a local sponsor, paying the organizers an undisclosed sum of money and providing materials for the medals required for the Games.
On receiving questions from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2010, BHP said that the agency had discovered possible violations of anti-corruption laws, but only related to some exploration projects that had been terminated.
Meanwhile, QUALCOMM, Inc.(NASDAQ:QCOM) is working with a group of wireless companies looking for means by which cellular networks can automatically broadcast content that is being used by a large number of customers.

Qualcomm executives are confident that the technology will be extensively used. For now, Qualcomm is building support for LTE Broadcast into its Snapdragon processors. It is also creating the required middleware software.
Qualcomm has demonstrated the technology both at January’s CES and in Barcelona last month.
The technology will go through public tests next year. While Verizon and Telstra plan to do trials, Korea Telecom has plans to use it commercially.
