March 4, 2013. Guelph, Ontario.- Dr. Gene Shelp, President and CEO is pleased to announce that a contract for a water treatment demonstration unit to assess technology for recycling and reusing greenhouse wastewater has been awarded to ENPAR Technologies Inc. (TSX:ENP) ("ENPAR" or "the Company"). The unit will be installed in a facility owned and operated by a member of The Ontario Greenhouse Alliance (TOGA).

Vegetable greenhouses use a soilless hydroponic growing system that involves the supply of nutrients to the growing plants through their water. While advances have been made in the ability of greenhouses to recirculate the water after it is supplied to the plants, there is opportunity to increase the efficiency of recirculating systems by removing 'limiters' from the solution. 'Limiters' are chemical compounds that gradually accumulate in the recirculating water that are not taken up and used by the plants.

TOGA is currently developing and demonstrating the practicality and benefits of new, made-in-Ontario water treatment technologies. The goal is to efficiently recycle nutrient feed water, help the greenhouse industry conserve water by using less fresh water per hectare, and recapture full value from all nutrients.

"ENPAR is extremely pleased to partner with TOGA to introduce its state-of-the-art water treatment technology to the Ontario agribusiness," stated Dr. Shelp. "We are confident this technology will prove to be capable of meeting greenhouse operators' water treatment needs and provide economic and environmental benefits to both Ontario and Canada."

The ENPAR business development strategy is focused on leveraging recent successes to introduce the Company's versatile water treatment products to the municipal, food processing, mining, energy and industrial sectors worldwide. Global market penetration will be achieved through business relationships with established, highly respected firms with access to an existing, broad client base and distribution channels.

TOGA is a strategic partnership between the two organizations representing Ontario's greenhouse floriculture growers and Ontario's greenhouse vegetable growers. There are about 500 greenhouse operations in Ontario that collectively make up the memberships of the two organizations.

Investment in this project has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program (CAAP). In Ontario, this program is delivered by the Agricultural Adaptation Council. Additional investments have been provided through the Ontario Ministry of Environment's Showcasing Water Innovation Program and the greenhouse sector.
