NEW YORK, March 04, 2013 - vb-news.net, one of the leaders in providing investment alerts on U.S. stocks are announcing Investment Highlights on Verizon Communications, Amazon.com, Advanced Micro Devices, The Boeing Company.

Verizon Communications Inc.(NYSE:VZ) is planning to enter into an international roaming agreement for 4G LTE services for the first time since its launch. The name of the carrier has not been disclosed.

Verizon Communication Inc., a joint venture between Verizon Wireless and Vodafone Group Plc. continues to offer its wireless service and is present in nearly 480 markets, covering approximately 273.5 million or 89% of the total U.S. population. Additionally, it has about 200 international roaming agreements for its 3G services with different carriers.

There is a delay in international roaming agreement for 4G LTE services due to two factors. Firstly, most countries have not yet auctioned 4G LTE related spectrums. Secondly, telecom operators are not in a hurry to migrate to the new 4G technology.

Rivals AT&T Inc. and Sprint Nextel Corp. have covered only 141 and 58 markets respectively. In the latest quarter, Verizon added 2.2 million retail subscribers. This is comparable with 1.1 million customers added by AT&T and 95,000 retail subscribers lost by Sprint.

The new contract will improve the overseas data and call service of Verizon Wireless while also helping the company to maintain its position as the country’s top 4G LTE operator.

Meanwhile, Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMZN) has come out with the Cloud Player app that allows the iPad and iPad Mini to stream music from the cloud.

The app permits direct streaming of music files from the cloud or download of content to be played while offline. It is available in the App Store

The company had already introduced Cloud Player app for iPhone and iPod touch last year.

Users can import 250 songs in the Cloud Player for free. For more, they need to pay $25 per year. In August last year, Amazon had signed licensing agreements with several music companies and more than 150 independent distributors, aggregators and music publishers to upgrade its Cloud Player service.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) has gone through a rough patch in the past 2 years. Its last two top-end CPU cores – “Bulldozer” and “Piledriver” have underperformed. However, its Brazos E-series APUs built on the 40nm ‘Bobcat’ core are clearly superior to rival Intel’s products.

Now, with the release of the new ‘Jaguar’ core-based Kabini and Temash SoC’s the tech community has understood that AMD’s plans of integrating the CPU with the GPU and focusing on usable performance over raw

power may were right. Kabini is aimed at a thermal design power (TDP) of 15-25W and the ultrathin notebook markets, while Temash will be offered in the 3-5.9W TPD range and is targeting tablets and hybrid-performance tablet designs like the current Microsoft Surface Pro.

In fact, a 5.9W quad-core Temash has outperformed a 17W Core i-3 Sandy Bridge in Cinebench R11.5, a benchmark usually very favorable to Intel’s single-threaded performance at 1.4GHz for both CPU’s.

Temash did this at one-third the power draw with a 30% smaller chip. Temash’s TurboDock ability is also spectacular. It allows a 3.6W tablet to open up the TDP envelope and run with fan cooling up to 17W, a very good option for the hybrid market.  Jaguar is powering Sony’s Playstation 4 as well as Microsoft’s next Xbox.  AMD is the leader behind Heterogeneous System Alliance.

HSA capabilities will first show up in Kaveri in late 2013. Meanwhile, The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) has entered into a deal worth $3.2 billion, with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) to supply 10 units of 777-300 Extended Range (ER) airplanes.

The company has already received orders to deliver 185 airplanes, including 78 units of Next-Generation 737s, 80 units of 737 MAXs, 12 units of 787 Dreamliners and 15 units of 777-300ERs to Air Lease Corporation.

Despite adverse government regulations in the U.S, the company’s backlog at the end of 2012 end remained strong.
