NEW YORK - Csrnewsdaily.com  Is announcing Investment Highlights on Research In Motion Limited, General Motors Company, Advanced Micro Devices.

Blackberry maker Research In Motion Limited (USA)(NASDAQ:RIMM), on the other hand, soared 9.7 percent to $12.18 in premarket trade thanks to Goldman Sachs’ upgrade of the stock from ‘neutral’ to ‘buy’.

Analysts expect RIM's results to beat Street estimates over the next four quarters. Goldman analysts also said that the launch of the new BlackBerry 10 in January next year may turn out positive for the company. "We now assess a 30% chance of success for BB10 given positive early reviews, broad-based carrier support, attractive features and interest by carriers and consumers in broadening the field beyond Android/iOS," they said.

The General Motors Company(NYSE:GM) China Advanced Technical Center will develop a range of technologies and know-how not just for China, but for the global marketplace, just like similar centers in other countries like the United States, Germany and South Korea.

"The facilities will support advances in technology, powertrains, electrification and vehicle design for GM on a local and global basis," said GM in a statement.

The decision to establish a facility in Shanghai was partly based on the profusion of engineering talent available in China. "There's tremendous people capability in China with more science and engineering graduates than the U.S., Japan, and Germany combined," said John Du, a director of the new center.

"China now ranks first in the world in the number of PhD candidates, and these are talents we want to attract into the GM R&D and engineering workforce. Not just to develop product for China market."

One principal area of research at the center will be heavily electrified technology that powers all-electric battery cars and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, which the Chinese call ‘New energy’. General Motors’ decision is not surprising considering the fact that Northeast Asia comprising Japan, South Korea and China, is a hub for advanced electric car battery research.

The first phase of the Shanghai center opened in September 2011, and today, GM will open the second and final phase.

The computer industry had pinned its hopes on Microsoft's Windows 8, but so far there has been no sign of improvement in the PC market.
