Mercator Transport Appoints Robert Gagnon As Its New Chief Financial Officer

LAVAL, QUEBEC, March 22, 2012 - Mercator Transport Group Corporation ("Mercator Transport" or the "Corporation") (TSX-V: GMT), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Gagnon as its new Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. He succeeds Mr. Patrick Bazinet, a Director of the Corporation, who held the position on an interim basis until today.

Robert Gagnon, a financial executive with extensive experience in various publicly traded companies operating in the services, distribution and manufacturing sectors, held various senior level positions in financial and general management for Saturn (Solutions), Frisco Bay Industries, Stanley Security Solutions Canada and Mecachrome, amongst others.

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Gagnon is an officer of the Corporation and he is responsible for the accounting, treasury, investor relations, human resources, financial planning and information technology functions.
