Wine Sitter, Which is Currently Part of a Crowdfunding Campaign, is Designed to Protect Glasses and their Tasty Contents from Wind Gusts Up to 40 Miles Per Hour

As the old saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention." This is definitely the inspiration behind the Wine Sitter. As Dodd explains, she and her husband created the innovative gadget out of a desire to protect their wine glasses and the delicious wine they were holding while drinking outside.
"Unfortunately, living in a windy city - Wichita, Kansas at the time - we had to deal with wind gusts which broke five of our glasses and spilled wine everywhere," Dodd said, adding that after being fed up with buying new glasses or having to constantly hold her glass while outside, she decided to find a product that could help her.
When her search turned up empty, Dodd and her husband decided to take matters into their own hands and invent something that would work. And with that, the Wine Sitter was born.
"To secure stemware, simply place Wine Sitter on any surface and slide the base of your glass in. When you are ready for more wine, simply slide stemware back out," Dodd noted.
For people who have exuberant dogs with wagging tails or nosy cats, the Wine Sitter also works well on coffee tables or other surfaces. It will also help guard against accidental bumps from clumsy friends or family members.
To help pay for the sales and marketing costs associated with bringing Wine Sitter to the market, Dodd recently launched a fundraiser on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. There, she hopes to use raise $10,000, which she and her husband will use to finally make Wine Sitter available at retail establishments.
