ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / July 23, 2018 / Some of the nation's leading technology, legal, and corporate security experts will launch the Cyber Education Foundation on September 11, 2018, to help companies combat cyber threats at an all-day event in Atlanta at the State Bar of GA Conference Center. The foundation has enlisted a diverse set of key corporate thought leaders who will focus on crisis prevention and education with an emphasis on cross-department communication.

The event will take place at the State Bar of GA conference centre. Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) will provide the keynote address regarding Congress and cybersecurity.

"Organizations often treat potential breaches as a technical problem, not a broad-ranging cultural one that can affect almost every aspect of a business," said Michael Daugherty, the Atlanta-based business leader who started the foundation. "From downtime, loss/theft of data, revenue, and stock price, the boardroom is now wide awake, expecting all executives to be fully prepared, digital leaders."

Daugherty is one of the few business leaders in the country whose company was not only hacked and surveilled but who then became the first individual to successfully defeat the FTC in court. With the conference, Daugherty believes his past experience will lend legitimacy, collaboration and a helping hand.

A true first for Atlanta's business executive leadership (Legal, HR, IT, PR/Marketing, Board Members), the Cyber Education Foundation is hosting the full day workshop on what it takes to be prepared for a cybersecurity crisis during this increasing regulatory environment. Participants will be generously coached by top business, government, and legal minds as they share deep insight into successes, failures, and what they will mean in the coming years.

"This is about preparing executives for what is already viewed as an inevitable event, for what can be a surprisingly inevitable outcome," said Daugherty.
