The Can-Am 500 is a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. It is one of four NASCAR races run with a length measured in kilometers (502 km). This race is the precursor to Ford Championship Weekend in Homestead Miami, and EarthWater is hoping for a strong outcome.

Corey LaJoie is a third-generation racer and a very well-known name in the racing world. His father, Randy LaJoie, brought home Xfinity Series Championships in 1996 and 1997. LaJoie already has an impressive racing career that includes six wins in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, three wins in the ARCA Series, and multiple starts in NASCAR's top series. LaJoie was selected as a member of the 2012 NASCAR Next Class, an industry initiative to help spotlight NASCAR's rising stars and bolster fan recognition around talent that will grow into Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series mainstays.
